Hey, send me a personal email on the side not related to this.

Back to the post topic. I am glad you are looking for a friendly way to share your faith and in a way that it practically applies to individual groups.

I enjoyed reading your post and am glad that you have such a great love for all of us Latter-day Saints out here. I appreciate your strong desire and thirst for truth, I feel very similarly. I also admire your zeal in proclaiming your beliefs to the world and to your friends. So many of us, as Christians forget that we have that obligation and allow ourselves to slip into complacency.

As a Latter-day Saint I believe the Bible is the word of God a well and that Jesus Christ is the creator of the world, its Savior and its Judge. I believe that as James teaches faith without works is dead. I believe that God is unchanging that he speaks to men in every age through prophets like Moses, Abraham, Peter, Isaiah and many others whose words we have today in holy scripture. I believe that he continues to speak today through prophets and apostles. I know that the Book of Mormon stands as a companion to the Bible, and contains the dealings of God with His children in the Americas. It stands as another witness of Jesus Christ showing the world that God is the same yesterday today and forever and that he speaks to all of his children.

If you have never read the Book of Mormon do. At the very least it will provide you further insight into our beliefs and faith. You can get one here: http://mormon.org

As a Latter-day Saint I admire you for your desire to share your beliefs with others. I could also likewise create a list of Biblical scriptures that illustrate the fallacies in your beliefs and show why I believe that I'm right. However I will not do that as these "discussion points" do little to further mutual respect and understanding of eachother's beliefs.

Like the typical "ColdFusion is dead" blog post, these points are based on incorrect assumptions, erroneous information, and an incomplete understanding of the subject matter.

Any member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who is well acquainted with his/her religion could provide a good explanation of their beliefs and why they believe that way. You would likely see that our beliefs are not that strange or "unorthodox".
